Sad reality show news now, and public decency-bothering Welsh reality show The Valleys is thought to have been axed due to the popularity of its MTV rival, Ex On The Beach.

And insider exclusively tells heat that the cast are "in turmoil" after hearing MTV executives will be binning off the show, putting a stop to their drunken Cardiff-troubling antics from now on.

The show racked up three seasons and introduced the world to the likes of Beyonce wannabe Lateysha Grace, Nicole Harris, Jenna Jonathan and Natelee Harris, plus vaguely incestuous twins Anthony and Jason Suminski and that one called Chidgey.

It is thought that Ex On The Beach, the new MTV Reality show starring Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattinson, is pulling in the ratings over and above the nipple flashing, tea-bagging and shower weeing of its Welsh counterpart.

Despite its risqué portrayal of life in the Welsh capital, The Valleys can apparently no longer hold viewers' attention as it did when it first hit our screens in September 2012.

A spokesperson for MTV released a statement to heat tonight, which reads:

“The Valleys has performed exceptionally well for MTV with three successful seasons behind it.

“However, with our audience always looking for new and engaging content, we’re focused on developing new original programme ideas for the MTV schedule such as new smash hit Ex On The Beach to sit alongside returning favourites like Geordie Shore.”
