In perhaps the greatest news of the year (decade) so far, it was recently revealed that Tracy Beaker is making a comeback.
Author Jacqueline Wilson announced she’s written a sequel to the epic original series, catching up with Tracy in her adult life.
The new book is called My Mum Tracy Beaker, and is told from the viewpoint of Tracy’s daughter Jess.
Now, to celebrate Tracy’s birthday on 8th May, the first glimpse of Nick Sharratt’s illustration of Jess Beaker has been published on the Jacqueline Wilson Fan Club’s Facebook page.
Like mother, like daughter, eh? And Tracy’s certainly aged well…
Speaking about the new book to The Observer, Jacqueline previously explained: "When I realised just how long ago it was since I wrote the first Tracy Beaker book, I thought: if we were in real time, Tracy herself would be in her 30s’."
