Feel free to let out a shriek of happiness. Because we sure as hell did.

American TV channel, CW, is adapting Nicholas Sparks’ novel-turned- movie,* The Notebook*, into a TV series, according to Entertainment Weekly.

An official synopsis reads: "This series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina."

Noah and Allie were played by Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in the 2004 film, but we wouldn’t get our hopes up if we were you that they’ll be reprising their roles for the TV show. That would just be too good to be true.

There seem to be a ton of movies being turned into TV shows at the minute – CBS has showed based on* Limitless* and Rush Hour in the works, while ABC has* Uncle Buck* and Fox is debuting* Minority Report* this fall.
