From what the stars eat to who helps them get dressed, we've got ALL the goss from the people in the know
The Oscars 2016 are nearly upon us – which means Hollywood is gearing itself up for a weekend of partying with the A-listers when the star-studded awards show kicks off on Sunday 28 February.
##Oscars 2016 date, time and tickets – everything you need to know
But just how manic is Oscars weekend for those who work it? heat spoke to Kim Kessler, director of public relations, and concierge Barbara Reyes at the Beverly Hills Four Seasons – the hotel that EVERYONE stays in (well, if you've got a spare $9,000 a night that is) – to find out.
So what actually happens in the run-up to the Oscars?
"We get ready by getting stocked with tons of supplies that guests will ask at the last minute – hair pins, cufflinks and so on. And having as many people on staff trained to tie bow ties [as possible]!"
And what about on the night of the Oscars itself – are all the staff on call to sort out any last-minute issues?
"On Oscar night it's all hands on deck. Everyone will be at the hotel managing the doors, assisting with bow ties and helping with gowns."
You must have some great anecdotes about celebs going to town on the room service…
"One year we had one of our nominee/winners order a bunch of baby back ribs from a famous restaurant in Georgia. The shipment arrived on Oscar Sunday and we needed to rush and take food to room service for plating and heating."
In the words of R Kelly, after the show, it's the after party. And after the party, it's the hotel lobby. Have any of your guests gone wild after the Oscars?
"We did have one year where we had a Oscar winner staying with us throw a large party in his room, which then transferred into the lounge where he proceeded to play the piano and sing for our guests."
Do you have a secret entrance/exit for famous guests, like through the kitchens?
"We have a secret entrance through our parking garage in Level P1, which we will have security block when we have special VIPs who don't like to walk through the main lobby."
We're sure the vast majority of your guests are extremely well behaved, but have any of them ever left their room in a complete state?
"We are very lucky and fortunate to have never really run into this issue. We love our guests and enjoy having them with us.
"Sharing in the experience and the special occasion is what makes us all so lucky to be working here. Our guests are very respectful overall."
You hear that, Justin Bieber? None of your shenanigans at the Four Seasons, thanks v much.
Hmm.
