Forget the 215352 Kardashian-Jenner babies popping out left, right and centre, we've got some even more exciting news for 2018 – and it's all about pizza.

It turns out the deliciously doughy food of the actual gods may be a good alternative for your breakfast, as it's reportedly better for you than cereal.

Clearly miles ahead when it comes to nutrition, we've been chowing down on our left over Sunday evening take-away pizza on a Monday morning for a while now, and now the dieticians are finally catching on.

"You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories," dietician Chelsey Amer told the Evening Standard.

She added: "However, pizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full and boost satiety throughout the morning."

A lot of breakfast cereals are also high in sugar, so swapping this for a lovely slice of Italy's finest could be the protein injection needed for the day ahead.

However, another dietician has come along to ruin all the fun.

"If you have a pizza that is heavily laden with cheese and pepperoni than that’s not a good decision but if it has lots of vegetables then it could be a good option," Priya Tew explained.

We're taking this to mean we should 100 per cent order that extra large veggie pizza tonight and save a few slices for breaky. It's meal prepping at it's finest, tbh.
