Great news, fans of the hit podcast Serial. It’s being made into a TV series!

Sarah Koenig’s massively popular podcast is being made into a TV series by The Lego Movie’s Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

While the Serial television drama will not revisit the murder of Hae Min Lee, it will follow a podcast crew investigating another unsolved case.

"Chris and Phil take an unexpected approach to telling stories and that is so appealing to us at* Serial*. They experiment. They don't mimic formulas," Serial producer Julie Snyder said.

"Developing a show with them is exciting because we feel like we speak the same language, only they're smarter than us."

This exciting news comes just one week after reports emerged that Serial has chosen the story of formerly-imprisoned US army sergeant Bowe Bergdahl as its subject for season two of the podcast.

Bowe Bergdahl was captured by the Taliban after making the decision to leave his base in Afghanistan for unknown reasons.

The soldier was held for five years before being recovered in a prisoner swap, which saw the release of five senior Taliban members from Guantanamo Bay.
