We kid you not, Pope Francis is release a prog-rock album – called Wake Up – in November. Rolling Stone Magazine broke the news of the Pontiff’s venture into music and revealed the album features Pope Francis singing sacred hymns and giving readings from some of his most uplifting speeches.

Incredibly, he will speak to the listener in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and English and will be delivering the message of peace along with raising environmental concerns that affects the whole world.

We imagine it as being a bit like Songs Of Praise with a mix of hearty rock – which sounds ace.

In his debut single_Wake Up! Go! Go! Forward_ pope Francis can be heard speaking to a South Korean audience (in English) while electric guitars and horns play in the background.

“Wake up, wake up,” he says. “The Lord speaks of a responsibility that the Lord gives you. It is a duty to be vigilant…No one who sleeps can sing, dance and rejoice.”

We hear you, PF.

If you don’t know much about Pope Francis, he’s the first Pope to be born outside of Europe and is known for his selflessness – shunning many of the privileges given to pontiffs. He’s big on climate change and equality for all.
