Is this the best Prosecco news yet?

Just in time, tbh

Aldi three litre Prosecco

Most of our Monday morning is spent trying to work out how much money we’ve got left in our account after the weekend’s antics, without actually having to log in to online banking to see the full extent of the damage. Things aren’t looking great and, if our calculations are correct, we’re currently working at a budget of 37p a day. Fab.

But, just when we thought we’d have to give up our weekly boozy brunches and stick to tap water and a green salad at dinner, we’ve heard some very good news.

Prosseco is getting cheaper!

“Demand for prosecco is still growing and the price is being eroded,” market analyst Toby Magill told The Independent.

"Alternative sparkling wines like Asda's Progrigio are coming in and because of the success of Prosecco, it's very difficult to sell at a higher price."

The price drop is also due to supermarkets such as Lidl and Aldi launching a prosecco price war with their amazing booze deals.

Apparently, this has brought the average price of a bottle of prosecco down from £6.99 to £6.76. We could all do with that extra 23p in our pockets, right?

In other Prosecco news (the best kind of news), Aldi is launching its first ever jeroboam of proper-fancy DOCG Prosecco later this autumn, after its magnums of sparkling wine and Champagne went down an absolute storm with shoppers.

In case you're trying to put this in context, that's three litres which is essentially 24 glasses. And you know what that means? A hell of a lot of basic bitch 'CHEERS' Boomerangs are comin' your way on Snapchat and/or Instagram Stories.

The Prosecco Jeroboam DOCG, £39.99, will be available in Aldi stores from November 14th and we've already got the date in our diary tbh.
