Simon was speaking at the launch of Britain’s Got Talent in London when he said he thought the band would be going on for a long time.
He had a slight comedic slip of the tongue when he claimed Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne had “got over” Zayn leaving and had to quickly correct himself but, by the sounds of it, Si’s still got faith in the band.

“I’ve always said to all of them – the future’s bright for all of you, whatever you chose to do,” Simon told Sugarscape. “We always hoped One Direction would stay together for a long time and my hunch is they still will – they’re just too good for everything to stop now.
“The [boys] were surprised and shocked [when Zayn left] and now they’ve got over it, not got over it, got used to it – they’ve been professional and have been respecting the fans who turned up to see a great show…”
And what about Zayn? “He’s a fantastic singer,” Simon added.
“Look’s he’s got to get his head together a little bit, he needs some time on his own as he said, to be a normal 22 year old which he’s going to have.”
So true, Simon.

Unhappily, though, its twin came whistling through the air and struck him in the gonads. You can see Harry drop to the floor in absolute shock while his bandmates try to keep the show going. HILARIOUS.

Yeah. Harry decided to give Liam Payne a friendly pat on the old scrote during a demonstration of his handstand skills. Mean Harry. Too mean.

Don't worry - Liam got his own back at a different gig by thumping Hazza between the legs with his mic. Revenge: a dish best served both cold and very, very publicly.

Maaaan - boybands get all the best freebies. We imagine 1D will NEVER experience the panic of laundry day where every single item of underwear is either buried deep in the washing basket or slowly rotating round and round in the machine, tantalisingly close yet with a 90-minute cycle still to go before you can be reunited with them.
