Yay for charity and being generous! Whether it was Kate Moss fawning over Andrea on the X Factor, the Andy Murray movie being lol or simply the heartbreaking (and uplifting) stories of people who had beaten cancer - the UK donated in its millions. Literally. The final total raised last night at Channel 4 and Cancer Research’s Stand Up To Cancer was an utterly huge £14,515,243, so well done everybody - give yourself a pat on the back if you donated, and if you didn’t, no pat for you and go to standuptocancer.org.uk to rectify this now please.
heat was there backstage at the event (watch out for our special SU2C shoot in heat magazine soon!) - and spied lots of celebs doing celeb-y things - Davina McCall was rushing around between ad breaks, Nicole Scherzinger was tottering around in massive heels and almost tottered off accidentally through a side exit, while Dr Christian was looking as handsome as ever in a swanky suit.
However, sartorial shout-out of the night goes to Keith Lemon and his flashy light-up trainers. “They’re quite scientific aren’t they?” Keith told us. “I got them from a shop called Irregular Choice on Carnaby Street and I think they last about three hours and then you plug them in to a USB lead. This is the most impressive science i’ve seen since NASA was invented." We saw these shoes in actual real life and would tend to agree.
