We shed a little tear after Jake Wood was given the boot from Strictly Come Dancing in tonight’s semi-final.
Mark Wright and Karen Hauer found themselves in the dance-off against Jake and his partner Janette Manrara.
When it was announced he was in the bottom two, before taking to the stage to compete once again, Mark said: “We’re going to do our best...We never even dreamt to make the semi-final. I’m so proud of how far we’ve both come.”
Jake, who danced the Cha Cha Cha, said: “I think I’m more comfortable with the Latin dances and I think I’ll do a better job than I did Saturday.”
Head judge Len Goodman saved Mark from elimination after Jake got two votes from his fellow panelists.
After hearing the news, Jake said: “As a 42-year-old dad of two it’s amazing... There’s going to be no other experience I can compare to Strictly Come Dancing.”
Caroline Flack was the first celebrity to go through to next weekend’s final of the competition with her partner Pasha Kovalev.
She said: “I feel so happy. It’s all I think about at the minute. We work so hard and it’s completely changed my life in so many ways. I just love it!”
In addition to Caroline, Frankie Bridge and Kevin Clifton, and Simon Webbe and Kristina Rihanoff will dance in the final next week.
