Sir Terry Wogan has been forced to pull out of his annual Children In Need presenting duties due to doctors' concerns about his health, it's been announced.
In a statement last night, the BBC revealed that a "replacement host" to join Tess Daly, Rochelle Humes, Nick Grimshaw and Fearne Cotton will be announced "in due course".
It's thought Terry, 77, will be having a procedure done on his back, and therefore doctors have advised him against presenting the six-hour show.
"Here we are on the 36th edition of Children In Need, every one of which I've been proud to present since it started in 1980, and for the first time, I won't be there, to cheer you on with word and gesture to another record-breaking year," said Terry in a statement.
"I'm going to miss our wonderful, inspiring evening together, but I'll be with you, watching, cheering and donating to a magnificent cause."
Sheesh – first Bruce Forsyth quits* Strictly Come Dancing*, now Sir Terry's passing his CIN baton to someone else.
