March might not be the most appealing month of the year, but despite what you think - there’s a lot going on across the next 31 days. From a chicken wing festival and a pop-up pug cafe to a knees-up St Patrick’s Day event where tacky hats and green beads are banned, we searched far and wide for the best things to get you out of your PJs and into your coat and gloves.
8 Marvellous things to do this March
National Chicken Wing Day - London
If there's one food that deserves its own festival, it's the mighty chicken wing. Taking place in Shoreditch, your £15 ticket to National Chicken Wing Day will gain you entry to a coop where award-winning chicken purveyors reign supreme; think Lord of the Wings, Absurd Bird and Buffalo Joes. Put all dignity on hold and embrace a sauce-stained face at this six-hour extravaganza; you won't regret it.
Brockmans Press for Gin - London
If you're looking for a midweek pick-me-up this March, look no further than Brockmans pop-up event, Press For Gin. Your £25 ticket will get you four hand-crafted cocktails that can be ordered by punching their 'press for gin' button, and a selection of gin-infused small plates. As well as live entertainment, you'll be in with the chance of walking away with some great prizes revolving around mother's ruin.
House of Holi - London
Snowfall in March? If you've had it up to here with winter, head to Cinnamon Kitchen and wave the never-ending season bon voyage by attending House of Holi. This pop-up will see you throw buckets of colourful paint at your mates to symbolise the start of spring, and after your 30 minute session you can refuel with an ice cold beer and themed cocktails at the bar.
Pug Cafe - Manchester
The Pen & Pencil in Manchester are celebrating Chinese New Year with a pug cafe and they'll have a bone to pick with you if you don't go. Going the whole nine yards, your pooch will be treated to 'dognuts', 'pupcakes' and free 'puguccinos', all whilst you dine from the restaurant's signature and Chinese-inspired dishes. Would you be barking to miss this year of the dog celebration? Yes, yes you would.
Ruckus - London
Cancel that trip to the pound shop. Ruckus is popping up at The Vaults for St Patrick's Day and you're not to be seen dead in shamrock-covered party wear. You'll be travelling back to 1918 to pay respects to a deceased Irish mob gangster, so start searching your wardrobe for all the waistcoats, fur and braces you can find. Billed as 'Peaky Blinders with twice the craic', it's a top way to pay homage to the Emerald Isle.
Speed Duetting - Brighton

Lucky Voice in Brighton are hosting a speed dating night on the 29th March where you'll be split into groups to enjoy a duet with a potential new partner. The Winter Games - London
From ice-karting to arcade games, there's a dozen reasons to pay Queens: Skate-Dine-Bowl a visit. Paying homage to the PyeongChang 2018, they've decided to create their own Winter Games this March, and they want you to compete. You'll be challenged with ice hockey, curling and go-nutting: an extreme sport where you're required to throw your body onto a rubber ring and slide towards a target along the ice. Oh yes; this is serious stuff, folks - so bring your A game and aim for the best score you can.
