We're not gonna lie, Valentine's Day can take its toll on the old bank balance. By the time you've sorted a card, present and 'surprise' slap-up meal you're just about ready to dump the other half and give Cupid the middle finger in favour of some financial stability.
Well this year we have some great news for anyone keen on keeping their relationship alive without falling victim to that sickly-sweet Valentine's Instagram ideal. Yup - following the revelation that Greggs is offering a romantic four course set menu (we're literally salivating) Wetherspoon has answered our prayers with a twenty quid dinner for two.
Who said romance is dead, eh?
If you cant be arsed treating bae to some boujee af restaurant with prices inflated tenfold on February 14th, we'd highly recommend the infamous beer and burger deal tbh.
So here's the situation - the deal includes two main meals, two desserts and two drinks and you can even upgrade to a bottle of Prosecco for a fiver if you're feeling a bit fancy.
For mains you can opt for a steak with all the sides, BBQ pork ribs, a mixed grill, a BBQ chicken melt or a Mediterranean vegetable lasagna; which probably means any vegans must declare themselves out at this point. Sorry, huns.
For dessert, you've got the choice of a warm cookie dough sandwich with ice cream or chocolate fudge cake with ice cream.
To cut a long story short, we're now ridiculously peckish and booking a table for the 14th as we speak. Nice one, Wetherspoon.
