Simon Cowell is not going to be happy about this. Not one tiny bit.
A campaign to get the* Star Wars* theme to Number 1 at Christmas has been set up, which could be a real nightmare for Simon and whoever wins this year’s* X Factor.*
It’s usually a given that the winner of the ITV show will bag the Christmas Number 1, but after Jon Morter started a campaign in 2009 to get Rage Against The Machine’s* Killing In The Name* to the top spot, beating McElderry, Simon should be worried.
A music insider told The Sun: “Simon is going to be a worried man.
“The campaign is already gathering pace and with greater publicity the anti-X Factor brigade are going to back it even more.
“Given Star Wars is going to be the biggest cinema release of the year, the tune is already going to be in everyone’s head.”
The campaign’s Facebook page has already attracted more than 420,000 likes and is encouraging folk to download the Sci-Fi theme in Christmas chart week to ensure it pips the* X Factor* winner to the top spot. Jon hasn’t confirmed or denied that he’s behind the latest stunt.
