Fans of Geordie duo Ant and Dec were left devastated earlier this year when Ant McPartlin announced he's taking a break from the public eye, and therefore not presenting this year's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here alongside Dec Donnelly.
Although viewers of the popular show are LOVING Holly Willoughby, with bookies even tipping her to win a National Television Award, a number of fans are missing the usual Ant and Dec partnership.
HOWEVER, according to a tweet by ITV weather presenter Emma Jesson, Ant HAS been involved in the 2018 series, scripting the live links between Dec and Holly. She wrote on Twitter, 'I am informed that Ant was consulted for scripted Holly & Dec links for @imacelebrity series 2018 #imacelebrity #ImACeleb @Ant_McPartlin @antanddec ... top move production team if this is the case, can see his hallmarks there 👍👏👍🎉😀👏'. [sic]
Despite Emma's claims, nothing about Ant working behind-the-scenes on the 2018 has been confirmed by ITV.
Following his split from his wife Lisa Armstrong and his drink-driving charge earlier this year, it was back in August that Ant confirmed he'd not be presenting this year's show.
A statement released on his behalf read, "Ant McPartlin today announces he will continue to take a break from all television presenting roles until 2019. Ant will not present ‘I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!’ in November this year."
Fans of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway then found out that there will be no series in 2019, to allow Ant further time to focus on his health. The statement continued, "In addition Ant and Dec have made the joint decision not to present a new series of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway in Spring 2019."
Ant said in the statement, "My recovery is going very well and for that to continue having spoken to Dec and ITV, I have made the decision to take the rest of the year off. I’d like to thank both Dec and TV for their continued support and I look forward to getting back to work in the new year.”
Meanwhile, in other I'm A Celebrity news, as well as fans noticing the MASSIVE weight-loss of this year's camp mates, viewers were also left devastated last night when Dec announced the series is already at the half-way point!
