Warning: contains spoilers from last night’s show
This year’s series of The Apprentice, much like much of 2016’s telly, has been a real shocker.
There was the time Alan Sugar declared no-one a winner during the campaign task, the allegations that FOUR contestants had been snogging all over the house, and there was last night’s episode.
In the sales task, the contestants had to choose high and low ticket items to sell at a boat show.
Karthik Nagesan (who in the earlier episodes said the phrase “What do you think about the chicks?” and argued that women get too “emotionally invested”) was the project manager for Titans.
He made big promises at the start of the task, saying: “I am a brilliant project manager and one of the proofs of that is that I project managed the conception of my baby boy. I know the exact hotel room in the exact country on the exact day that he was conceived. How many parents can give the gift of that information to their kids?”
Sweet Jesus.
But after trying and failing to sell speedboats and some other weird-looking boaty things in the pouring rain, they ended up suffering a loss of more than £40,000 after only making £188.90.
Nightmare.
Team Nebula, meanwhile, cashed in £3,580.68 on snorkels, backpacks, paddle boats; and they also sold two boats – making a total of £40,480.68.
Safe to say team Titan were a little bit pissed off. Karthik admitted it was a “shit storm” after Alan Sugar revealed it was one of the worst results in the show’s history.
Karthik added: “I had a deplorable day at work leading Team Titans, a very bad day as a project manager. Not only that, I also dragged someone else down with me. When I exit, it’s a big scene.”
Lord Sugar then DRAMATICALLY said the following: 'Karthik, listen to me, there is no excuse, you have been a diabolical project manager - I don't trust you to bring anybody back into this boardroom. Karthik you're fired!”
ALL THE DRAMZ.
He later fired Samuel Boateng. It kicked off, basically.
The Apprentice continues next Thursday on BBC1.
