The new series of The Apprentice kicks off on Wednesday 3rd October, and it's safe to say this year's intake of hopeful candidates are a pretty mixed bunch.

From marketing experts, to lawyers and small business owners 16 budding entrepreneurs from a variety of different business backgrounds are looking to win over Lord Sugar, Baroness Brady and Claude Littner with their business acumen, selling skills and boardroom prowess. There's even a former Shameless actor in the mix.

However, one candidate's career history is little more risqué than the rest.

Richard Monk, a quality controller from Lanchashire, has admitted he once worked as an escort along with his partner and mother of his children, Katie.

According to The Sun Online Rick and Katie were paid up to £200-a-night for their services, and although their Adult Work profiles have now been deleted, it's claimed Katie was still active as of March this year.

In a statment, Rick admitted: "We’re in a loving relationship and have been together for many years – and as many couples are these days, we’re also both sexually adventurous people.

“In the past we have been listed on an escort agency website, but we are not currently active members and haven’t been for some time."

In other Apprentice news, some eagle-eyed fans of the show have already spotted a couple of Photoshop fails in the publicity shots for this year's candidates.

Accompanying a photo of one of this year's hopefuls, Kayode Damali, a 26-year-old professional speaker, one fan tweeted, 'Have spent the entire day laughing at this guy with three hands on #TheApprentice'

Kayode wasn't the only candidate to be subject to a Photoshop fail. As another fan pointed out on a photo of Frank Brooks, a senior marketing manager from London, 'Look how long his hand is!!' Oops!
