British sitcom Benidorm has graced our TV screens over the last 11 years, but now it has been confirmed by bosses that the current series will be the last.
Leaving fans of the show devastated, creator Derren Litten confirmed the news that this Wednesday's episode will be the last ever.
Taking to Twitter, Derren wrote, 'Crazy to think Wednesday will be the last episode of Benidorm! I created the series over 11 years ago, wrote it, guest starred in it and ended up directing it. It's difficult to think what else there is to do! Thank you for watching! #MuchasGracias 🌴'. [sic]
Fans of the show were quick to express their disappointment, with many thanking Derren for 10 'amazing' series.
However, it's not all bad news for fans of Benidorm. According to new reports, Derren is adapting the series into a stage show! A spokesperson for the show previously said, "Derren Litten is in the early stages of writing a stage version of his hit ITV series. Details will be confirmed at a later date."
Exciting! 🌴
Benidorm first aired on ITV way back in February 2007, with viewers falling in love with characters such as Mateo, Kenneth, Madge, Mel and Geoff.
