As any Benidorm fan will know, earlier this year we sadly said goodbye to the popular TV series as the 10th season finished back in May, however it might not all be bad news as it has now been revealed that it is heading to the big screen!
That's right, 2019 could be the year that fans get to see their favourite characters in a feature-length film! According to reports, a deal is close to being agreed, that will see staff at the Solana alongside some possible A-listers!
The Mirror is reporting that the show's writer, Derren Litten, has confirmed that an 'American A-Lister' wants to sit on a sun-lounger with some of the favourites apparently keen to reprise their roles.
John Challis, known for playing the role of Boycie in Only Fools and Horses, and Monty Staines in Benidorm, has also sparked rumours, telling The Daily Star, "The movie will be marvelous. I'd like to think that Monty will be on an anger management course in Alicante. I can't wait."
Fans were left devastated earlier this year with the news that the 10th season of Benidorm would be its last. Derren confirmed the news on Twitter saying, 'Crazy to think Wednesday will be the last episode of Benidorm! I created the series over 11 years ago, wrote it, guest starred in it and ended up directing it. It's difficult to think what else there is to do! Thank you for watching! #MuchasGracias 🌴'. [sic]
However, not long after his initial tweet, Derren then said there was a bit of a misunderstanding. He pointed out that he didn't say that this is the last episode ever and was just bidding the series goodbye for now. However he did admit that he didn't correct those who assumed wrongly.
