If you’ve just about ploughed through all four series of Selling Sunset after dedicating consecutive weekends to mentally fapping over homes and lives you will never (we repeat: NEVER) be able to afford, then our condolences.
It’s truly a sad day when you have to return to the reality of a thoroughly mundane existence during what has been a thoroughly crap year, but if it’s escapism you’re after, we’ve got great news.
Property porn has well and truly taken the world by storm recently and pre-SS there were already a whole load of aspirational reality TV shows to obsess over, from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to the marine-based Below Deck and even the humble Changing Rooms.
Stuck on how to fill the void?

Series to fill the Selling Sunset void
Million Dollar Beach House - Netflix
This is probably the closest you'll come to Selling Sunset – just swap the LA Hills for exclusive Hamptons holiday homes and the glam all-female cast for testosterone-fuelled former frat boys, and you get the idea.
The Hills - Amazon Prime
If it was the cut-throat dramz and LA social scene that really got you hooked on Selling Sunset, then The Hills will totally satiate your cravings. LC, Heidi, Audrina and the gang were the ultimate in California squad #goals. Special shout out to the hot men, too.
Flipping Out - Now TV
Flipping property is the term given to buying dilapidated homes and renovating them to a killer standard to turn a major profit – and that's exactly what you can expect from this Emmy nominated make-over show.
Grand Designs - All4
One of the originals, and still the best. For the best property porn from around the globe, this British stalwart of TV (it's been running for over twenty years) won't fail to impress and will have you thinking waaay outside the box for your future home (for when you become a millionaire, natch).
Styling Hollywood - Netflix
So it's not quite property porn, but the similarities between LA's real estate and fashion industries – ie, famous friends, expensive tastes and incredible parties – make Styling Hollywood essential viewing for anyone who found the personal developments in Selling Sunset the juiciest bit.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills – Amazon Prime
Along a similar thread, RHOBH is a more grown-up version of The Hills – but doesn't scrimp on any of the cattiness, we can assure you. The number of series are seemingly endless and show no signs of slowing down, so prepare to dedicate the rest of your life to watching.
Below Deck - Netflix
What's fancier than a multi-million dollar home in the Hollywood Hills or The Hamptons, you ask? Why, one on water, of course. Below Deck follows the lives and loves of deck hands on some of America's most incredible super yachts. Oh, how the other half live.
Million Dollar Listing - Amazon Prime/Now TV
Selling Sunset might be hailed as the ultimate property porn/unscripted reality crossover on telly, but Million Dollar Listing came way before (in 2006, in fact). Following the success of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, Now TV launched three spin-offs: Miami, New York and San Francisco. That's actual WEEKS worth of binging.
Rich Kids of Beverly Hills - Now TV
So maybe you're a masochist and just really, really love feeling down over your mundane life while you gorge on literal teenagers living the life YOU deserve? In that case, you'll love to hate the spoiled offspring of America's most successful business families in Rich Kids of Beverly Hills.
In the absence of Love Island last year, Selling Sunset rapidly became our new reality TV obsession during lockdown so we were absolutely shooketh to discover the show’s secret link to TOWIE legend Gemma Collins.
It turns out that just before the Netflix show became a global sensation, one of its stars made a cameo on the GC’s reality show Diva Forever.
Gemma Collins and Selling Sunset – name a more iconic duo. We'll wait.
The unexpected crossover took place during the fourth episode of the series when Gemma jetted off to LA and met up with her Celebrity Big Brother pal (and Kim Kardashian’s BFF) Jonathan Cheban, who was looking to buy a house. And when Hollywood’s elite are looking to splurge on a new home, where do they go? None other than The Oppenheim Group, of course.

Selling Sunset's Mary Fitzgerald: "I didn't see the Jason and Chrishell romance coming"
If you’re counting down the days until season five of Selling Sunset then there’s good news as filming has already wrapped and it won’t be long until it hits our screens. Chrishell Stause revealed the news when she replied to a fan on Twitter who wrote, “They should just release season 5 already, so you guys can start filming season 6-10 lol.”
Chrishell said, “Season 5 won't be too long of a wait! We just wrapped filming!"
And Mary Fitzgerald was even more specific during a recent appearance on Lorraine when she teased, “We have season five coming out probably in March. We're done filming. We have a couple of pick-ups when we get back, and a couple of interviews still to do. But for the most part, season five's done filming, and it will be very, very good."
She added, “Season four I think was very like… a lot was going on and just shocking and great and dramatic, and season five's gonna be the same.”
Colour us EXCITED.
