Since Big Brother finished last year, hardcore reality TV fans have felt a hole missing in their tv-watching schedule.

But that might all be about to change as the show’s narrator Marcus Bentley has suggested the show, fronted by Emma Willis, will be returning sooner than we think.

Replying to a fan on Twitter, who made him aware that it had been a year since Big Brother UK last aired on Channel 5, the narrator said, “I said this to my Mrs yesterday – we’re one year closer to BB’s return!”

However, he then replied to another fan, saying he had “not heard anything of late.”

He even fuelled further rumours, after posting a photo of himself at the last Big Brother final to air on Channel 4, with the cryptic caption, "Me and my youngest two at the finale of the last @channel4 #bigbrotheruk . That series was probably the best - so far!"

The news comes after The Strictly: It Takes Two host, who won CBB after his stint on the X Factor, recently admitted he was making it known people want the show to return.

Rylan said, "I'm adamant Big Brother will return. When and where I don't know but I won't rest until it does.

"I think Celebrity Big Brother is one of the most important shows on TV because we get to see people for who they really, really are.
