Bird Box starring Sandra Bullock and Sarah Paulson has been a massive hit with fans, even spawning the Bird Box Challenge, which Netflix had to warn the public against doing. However, throughout the entire Netflix Original film viewers don't get to see the monster that causes people to commit suicide, that is until now!

Photos have emerged online of what is believed to be the monster, originally intended to appear in the popular film. However, a decision was made to leave out the monster, creating more suspense. According to a series of photos posted by SFX Atlas on Instagram, the Bird Box monster looks like an accentuated bald human, with a lot of visible blood vessels.

The photos were accompanied by a caption reading, 'The unseen creature from Bird Box created at @knb_efx that was sadly cut from the final film', with special makeup effects artist Howard Berger saying, "It’s always a bit disappointing when so much effort goes into something that ends up in the cutting room floor, but I get it and it’s always what is best for the final product."'

Judging by the reaction to these new photos, it looks like cutting it from the final edit was the best decision. Fans of the feature have been leaving comments such as, 'Maybe there could've, at a stretch, made this to work but I'm glad it was cut', [sic] 'better without', and another said, 'Glad this did not make it to the end film. If it was up to me I would also remove all spoken references to the word "creatures". '

According to the film's director Susanne Bier, "The creatures mess with your mind; they tap into your deepest fear."

She told the Radio Times, "And, because they tap into your deepest fear, we can't ever see them, because that deepest fear is going to be different whoever you are."
