Bodyguard is one of the most-talked about shows on the TV right now, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats at the tension following main characters Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes) and Sergeant David Budd (Richard Madden).
WARNING: THE BELOW ARTICLE CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS!
After Sunday night's episode, viewers were left in shock when Home Secretary Julia Montague was pronounced dead following the blast at St Matthew's College earlier in the series.
And despite the episode clearly stating her death, skeptic viewers of the show were convinced bosses were 'faking' her death, with the prospect of Julia returning later in the series to continue her quest for Prime Minister.

HOWEVER, despite the fan theories, Bodyguard writer Jed Mercurio, who is also famous for creating TV shows like Line Of Duty and Bodies, has pretty much revealed that Julia is dead, admitting why he chose to kill off a main character so early on in the series.
Speaking to Radio Times, Jed said, "I think there’s a certain expectation with series TV that it will always orbit around an equilibrium, in which nothing much changes for the main stars, and there are no drastic changes to the set-up, especially now things tend to run for several series. But, with my work, I like to try to do things that move the story on, and with Bodyguard I wanted to have this event mid-series that would completely alter the dynamic."
😱😱😱
As if this wasn't enough, actress Keeley Hawes, who plays the role of the infamous Home Secretary, took to Twitter to express her feelings towards the show.
She wrote, 'It has been amazing to be part of #Bodyguard. Everyone’s enthusiasm for the show has made it so exciting. Thanks again for watching and for the lovely messages. And Iiiiieeiiiieeeiiiiiiiiii will always love youuuuuuuuuuuuu! @_richardmadden.' [sic]
But don't panic, there is still hope that this could be a double-double bluff by bosses, and an almighty twist could still happen! (We hope so! 🙏)
Bodyguard continues on BBC One, Sundays at 9pm.
