Big hearted and Simon Cowell are not two words we thought we’d ever write in the same sentence. Unless the sentence was ‘Simon Cowell is not big hearted’.

ANYWAY, the self-styled Mr Meanie has proved he does have a soft side, nwwwwaw.

Simon was moved by the flight of Julia Carlile, a 15-year-old dancer with troupe the Mersey Girls. She was born with scoliosis, a painful back condition.

The girls are in with a shot at winning the Britain’s Got Talent final and scooping the £250,000 prize money. If they win, they’ve pledged to give Julia the £78,000 she needs to go to America for surgery.

And if they don’t take the prize, Simon has hinted that he’ll pay for the surgery himself.

“Whatever happens, we’ll make sure you’re in a great place,” he told them.

“I don’t want to get too emotional, but out of all the acts tonight, you and the Pensionalities are the ones who got me

“You’re both uplifting and doing something positive.”

Has anyone got a tissue to hand? We’re just feeling a little emosh.
