Katie Hopkins’ arrival in the Celebrity Big Brother house was always going to be fraught with tension – but the Apprentice runner-up has actually admitted to feeling “the most scared I’ve been for some time” among her fellow inmates.
Writing in her Sun column, the rent-a-gob almost revealed her human side by confessing how frightened she is by the prospect of being locked up for weeks.
But then she went and spoiled it all by calling her housemates “idiots”, “loons” and “empty drums”. Oh.
“I’m supposed to spend the next week or so dressed as a rabbit nibbling on a carrot (or something equally stupid) with a handful of people only interested in one thing: Themselves,” she said.
“My husband says I should think of the film Hector And The Search For Happiness and take time in the Big Brother house to think about what happiness is.
“He is an idealist. I might learn unhappiness is living with a bunch of lazy gits.”
Wow. Katie, whose first task in the CBB house was to single out the two least entertaining celebrities for the initial public vote, was also assigned with being nice to the rest of the celebrity line-up – a challenge we all, let’s face it, thought she’d fail instantly.
But on last night’s show, she seemed to be doing pretty well, with just a mini breakdown at the end when she admitted to feeling desperately lonely in the house.
She also opened up to Perez Hilton about her struggle with epilepsy, saying there was “a piece missing” in her brain.
However, it does look like she’s been rumbled by Calum Best, who reckons she might be a spy.
"Let's just say she came in first and she was like, I choose so-and-so and so-and-so,” he said about the first nominations.
"She's been hired to be this villain. She's got that villain reputation outside.”
Hmm!
