CBB 2015: Kavana planned to take 1997 pop award into Celebrity Big Brother house

Poor Kavana, you have to feel a bit sorry for him – the former pop star has made no secret of the fact he struggled with life in the public eye after finding fame at such a young age.

But the singer, 37, who has himself joked that he still clings on to his '90s heyday, really wants to ensure one of his prized possessions from his music career is safe while he’s in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

The former Big Reunion star, who was part of man band 5th Story on the series last year, apparently keeps a close eye on his Smash Hits Award from 1997 and even packed it with him to take on the show.

But despite taking it with him everywhere for over a decade, he decided he'd rather not be mocked by viewers of the Channel 5 show for carrying it in.

A friend of the star told The Sun: “He was really anxious about leaving it – it’s like his comfort blanket.

“He takes it everywhere with him in a black holdall bag and he’ll panic if it even leaves his eyeline.”
