Celebrity Big Brother is facing criticism after last night's episode (30th August). Former Emmerdale actress Roxanne Pallett accused ex-Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas of being a "woman-beater"after he playfully punched her, and requested that he be kicked off the show.
Although he was not kicked off the show, she did refuse to sleep in the same room as him and he was issued a formal warning by Big Brother. When asked whether he understood why he was being given the warning, he said, "I think that we both know and Roxanne knows that there was no malice and hurt, or anger, in anything that I did during this time.
"But from your point of view, while doing this show, I am sorry and I understand."
During the episode, Ryan's girlfriend Lucy Mecklenburgh tweeted her outrage over Roxanne's treatment of him, calling for Roxanne to be removed from the CBB house. She was backed by many celebrities, including Ryan's fellow soap stars.

But now, viewers have slammed the show for "belittling" domestic violence, with former chief prosecutor Nazir Afzal saying that she "clearly has issues and needs help."
He added, "I don’t engage with Celebrity Big Brother but I can’t let what just happened pass. What Roxanne did in alleging domestic violence (which we saw for ourselves) and persuading producers to warn Ryan set back immense work done by [domestic violence] charities in raising awareness."
Nazir's comments have been backed by plenty of viewers, who took to Twitter.
