Celebrity Big Brother’s Ken Morley received 233 complaints before he was removed from the show

Ken Morley didn’t exactly try and make himself popular in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

The Coronation Street legend, 71, was criticised by fellow housemate, R&B singer Alexander O’Neal, for making remarks that could have been deemed racist, and was blasted as “misogynistic” and “homophobic” by another cast member, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.

He was also described as “sexist” by some of the female housemates after he walked into the bathroom and announced: “There’s one place you can get a good view of a really good arse.”

After the actor’s offensive comments at the weekend, Ofcom received 233 complaints.

In comparison, the government body has received just two complaints about an offensive word used by Katie Hopkins and four complaints after former Baywatch actor Jeremy Jackson allegedly pulled down Ex On The Beach star Chloe Goodman’s dressing gown to expose her breast against her will.

Ken’s son Roger Morley has even apologised for his father’s behaviour, writing in a Facebook post: “I would like to apologise to anyone who may have been offended by my Dad’s behaviour tonight.”

The actor was removed from the house today meaning Tuesday’s eviction, in which he was one of the housemates to face the public vote, has been cancelled.

A statement read: “Ken Morley has been removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house for using unacceptable and offensive language following his formal warning.

“Tuesday’s eviction is now cancelled and lines are now closed. Anyone who has already voted will be able to apply for a full refund and details will be available on the Big Brother website within 24 hours.”
