It's the news all RuPaul's Drag Race fans have been waiting for since the show premiered 12 series ago.

But the wait is now over, as RuPaul has officially confirmed a celebrity version of the show is in the works and will air in 2020 on VH1.

Confirming the news at Vanity Fair's 6th Annual New Establishment Summit, he said, "Doing drag does not change who you are, it reveals who you are.

"I can't wait for the world to see what happens when our celebrity contestant get all up in drags!"

And of course, fans have gone CRAZY at the prospect of which celebrities will be sign up.

RuPaul also confirmed the winner of the celebrity series will win a cash price, with that money being donated to a charity of their choice.

And even better, fan favourite RuPaul's Drag Race stars have also been confirmed to be returning to the show to dish out some diva advice for the celebs.

Those returning are Asia O'#Hara, Bob the Drag Queen, Alyssa Edwards, Kim Chi, Monet X Change.

Also joining them will be Monique Heart, Nina West, Trinity the Tuck, Trixie Mattle and Vanessa Vanjie Mate.

Michelle Visage is expected to return to the judging panel. However, there's been no speculation as of yet who will be joining as a judge.
