heat has pretty much been sobbing uncontrollably since it was announced that The Great British Bake Off would be moving to Channel 4 in a £75 million deal.
Not just because this is terrible news in itself (IMAGINE THE ADVERT BREAKS), but it set off what can only be described as a horrific chain of unfortunate events.
Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc announced they’d leave, Mary Berry followed suit, Davina McCall was rumoured as a new host.
We basically gave up with life when Selasi GborCmittah revealed he had a girlfriend.
As well as Davina and David Cameron, less concerning rumours about who would be joining the show started getting bandied about – including Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders as hosts and Delia Smith as judge (Paul ‘Traitor’ Hollywood is staying).
A source told The Sun: “The bosses want a real baking legend to replace Mary and Delia is topping the list there, as her cookery books are an absolute kitchen staple.
“She would be a really credible choice. And Dawn and Jennifer would be a dynamite signing. Not only are they absolutely hilarious, but they have wonderful chemistry, which is what viewers really loved about Mel and Sue.”
But, according to Channel 4, no one has yet been approached by the show.
A spokesperson said: “We are taking our time to find the right presenters and judges for Bake Off.
“We have not approached anyone about the roles,” they told Metro.
Last year’s winner and facial expression QUEEN Nadiya Hussain previously said she’d be down to judge the show.
She told Absolute radio’s Christian O’Connell she would consider it only if Mary and the aforementioned traitor took part as contestants.
“We’d have to end the show with two winners and just let them have it," Nadiya said, which is ridiculous as Mary would obviously win.
We would love to see that, TBF.
