Since the beginning of 2018, fans of the popular fantasy drama, Charmed, have been super excited at the prospect of a brand new reboot of the series, and now one of the original stars, Shannen Doherty - who played Prue Halliwell - has given her thoughts on the new series, which is set to hit the small screen later this year.
Speaking to ET, Shannen, whose character was originally killed off after three seasons, said, "I think it's great. I think it's awesome." She went on say, "I think second lives are amazing, so I'm all for it… I'm happy to see that a show, that back then was all about strong women who supported and loved each other, is now coming back again in this day and age."
"It's about female empowerment again," Shannen continued, "Not that that's something new. Charmed originally was that too. But I think it's wonderful, you know? And it's providing a lot of jobs for people, and I honestly, I just wish them well. And I hope that everyone just gives them a chance."
The new series of Charmed was announced earlier this year to much excitement with many fans speculating who could be taking over the roles of the much-loved characters, including the three Halliwell sisters, Prue, Piper and Phoebe.
At the time, show bosses confirmed the reboot with a statement which read, "This fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series centers on three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches.
"Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy and maintaining familial bonds, a witch's work is never done."
