Woah, woah, woah! What’s going on with the X Factor? Earlier this week it was reported Cheryl Fernandez-Versini was set to return as a judge for the next series of the show but now it seems she might not – and all because of Mel B.
The former Girls Aloud star is apparently considering turning down her offer of a job on the panel if ex Spice Girl Mel is not invited back too.
The show is undergoing a shake-up with Dermot O’Leary leaving as host and judge Louis Walsh rumoured to be facing the axe, and with Mel apparently asking for £1million more than last year, Simon is said to be wondering if it’s worth splashing the cash.
A source close to Cheryl told the Sunday People: “This isn’t about money for her. Being on X Factor means she can take on very little other work, so she wants it to be good.
“When Mel was in the running last year, Cheryl wasn’t over the moon. But they hit it off and became very close.
“That is a huge part of her negotiations with Simon. He wants Cheryl back but she hasn’t made up her mind.”
We’ll certainly miss Mel if she’s not back too, Cheryl!
