Cheryl Fernandez-Versini to work with Lauren Platt after X Factor

Getting the boot from The X Factor must be a bit of a bummer but Lauren Platt has her mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini on side – she’s going to continue to guide her in the future.

Lauren came fourth in the competition and was eliminated from the show last weekend but former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl is hoping to help her succeed.

When asked if she was going to carry on working with Lauren, Cheryl told heatworld: “I would love to. She’s still only 17 so she still needs to find herself and what she wants to do, what style of music and she’s got a lot of stuff she needs to think through and I’ll be there for any advice she needs.

“She’s always going to be asking my advice and what I think and I’ll always be there for her.”

Aww, that’s a bit of alright int’ it? However, Chez admits the aspiring singer will have to work hard to make it in the music business.

She added: “[The contestants’] longevity has to be what they do thereafter.

“ I mean, the competition’s one thing you know, you have themes, you have all different obstacles you need to get through and they grow during that process but afterwards it’s about being who you are as an artist in this current market which is extremely hard right now.”

Well, you don’t have to win X Factor to succeed, Lauren!
