Coronation Street CHRISTMAS spoilers: Lewis Archer threatens Gail Platt

Waking up the day after the boozy Christmas party, Tim has a terrible feeling something bad has happened.

As he heads out to visit Sally in prison, Tim is horrified when Faye tells him she saw him in bed with Gina. He's disgusted with himself for stooping so low, and tells Gina as much.

Meanwhile, Sally is having a terrible time inside as she finds herself caught between Abi and Marcia as things turn violent. She's disappointed when Tim doesn't show for visitation – not knowing he's too ashamed to face her after what happened.

But Tim can't hide his guilt forever. On Christmas Day he goes to visit Sally in prison, and comes clean about sleeping with Gina – despite knowing his marriage probably won't survive it. Back home during lunch, Gina admits she's in love with Tim.

Later, Tim vows to fight for his wife and he and Sophie arrange a meeting with Paula. But Paula is sure the only way to get Sally out will be a confession from Duncan.

Gemma is troubled when she learns about Liz and Johnny's affair, particularly when Jenny insists she wants to forget about it.

Jenny is disappointed when Eileen cancels her and Liz's holiday, downing a bottle of red to help ease her anxiety at Liz being around over Christmas. Gemma picks up on some warning signs after chatting with Tyrone.

Later, Johnny hosts a Christmas Eve pub quiz but snaps at Jenny when she gets too drunk. Gemma follows her as she runs out into the yard and asks her if Johnny is being abusive – Jenny insists he isn't, but Gemma doesn't believe it.

Back in the Rovers, Johnny declares his love for Jenny, but after too much to drink Jenny is upset when Johnny compliments Liv. The row escalates, with Jenny admitting she has been tracking the two of them. Jenny storms out, grabbing a bottle of wine on the way, and Johnny sacks Liv to save his marriage.

Sarah is disappointed when she receives a call from Gail, saying she's stuck in Milan. Then Bethany admits she'll be working Christmas day and Izzy let's slip Gary will be in Bristol, and Sarah is gutted to realise she'll be spending Christmas alone.

Audrey suggests they all have Christmas lunch together at The Bistro – and offers to share out her windfall to pay for it. Nick notices that Lewis looks concerned by the suggestion.

Gail arrives home, and is shocked to be the last to know about Nick's secret marriage. During the meal, Audrey tells David she's planning on winding down and handing her reigns in the business over to him.

Later on, Lewis arouses suspicion when his phone rings and he leaves the table to answer it. Gail follows him out into the yard, and is shocked by what she hears.

Carla convinces Gail she should find out what Lewis is up to, and so she follows him to a hotel where he meets a glamorous middle aged woman for a fancy dinner.

He takes her upstairs, and Gail manages to snap a picture of them as they disappear into a bedroom...

Gail tells Audrey everything and urges Nick to move Audrey's inheritance to an account where Lewis can't get it. But she's accidentally taken a selfie instead of snapping Lewis with the other woman. Over dinner, Audrey confronts Lewis.

Back at the Bistro, Michelle let's Daniel leave early so that he can go home and spoil Sinead, as he's been stressing all day about the vegan dinner he's promised to cook.

Daniel and Sinead host a vegan dinner party, inviting Kirk, Craig, Adam, Ken, Peter and Beth.

During dinner, Sinead is upset when she overhears Daniel telling Peter how scared he is that she's going to die.

Peter buys the old snooker club on Victoria Street, but Dev tells him it's haunted, seeing an opportunity to play a trick.

Later on in the snooker hall, Peter and Simon find snooker cues in pentangles on the floor and '666' scrawled on the wall in chalk.

Later, Carla visits the Peter at the snooker hall and warns him it has a history as a total money pit. She challenges him to a game, suggesting that if he win, he pulls out of the sale.

Over a charged game of snooker, the two of them relive their past together and it's clear there is still feeling between them.

Peter relays to Ken and Simon what Carla told him about the snooker hall and explains he's pulled out of the sale. Later, a delivery man calls at his house with a surprise.

Answering the door, Peter finds a boat on his doorstep – a gift from Carla. Peter tells Simon that once he's restored it, he wants to sail it around the Caribbean – and hopes that Simon will come too.

Peter thanks Carla for her thoughtful gift.

Lewis has asked Audrey to meet him at the pub, but instead he heads to Gail's house.

Finding her watching the New Year's fireworks from her garden, Lewis warns Gail to keep out of his business – leaving her frightened for her safety.

The next day, Lewis begs Audrey to meet him at the Bistro telling her all will become clear, but later Gail finds her alone at the Bistro waiting for Lewis.

Admitting defeat, the two of them leave together, with Audrey fearing that Gail had been right all along about Lewis and that he wasn't to be trusted after all.

On Nick's request, Audrey calls her financial adviser as they have some urgent news. As Audrey listens, her face falls and she collapses. She tells Gail, David, Nick and Sarah that the £80k has been stolen from her account.

Emma has finally managed to land a date with Chesney, but he's preoccupied by messages from Gemma. Determined to get his attention, Emma vows to be more like Gemma.

Chesney is taken aback when Emma turns up at the kebab shop in a Gemma-esque get up, but Gemma thinks she looks great.

Later, Gemma receives a prank phone call and assumes it's from Emma, confronting her in the cafe.

Despite her feelings, Gemma encourages Chesney to do something romantic for Emma. Chesney asks Emma to meet him for a picnic in the Urban Garden, but as he's setting up he spots a threatening hooded figure heading for Gemma's flat.

Chesney tackles the figure, and they are both shocked when they realise who it is. Emma is heartbroken that Chesney has stood her up.

Rana is heartbroken when she spots Kate's ex, Imogen, meeting her from work. Imran and Toyah urge Rana to go after Kate, and a tipsy Rana confesses that she's still in love with her.

Mary has managed to track down Jude to a B&B in Blackpool, and tries to convince him to come home. Jude tells Mary he can't leave as he owes the B&B £500. Mary heads out to find a cash point, to pay of Jude's debt.

Jude lies to his new girlfriend Kelly that he's a surgeon, and that Mary is one of his patients. It's not long before Kelly blows his story, and Mary realises Jude is up to his old tricks. Still, she gives him the benefit of the doubt, handing over the money and telling him she'll wait in the car.

David's taken aback when his old cellmate Paul calls at No.8. Paul quickly makes himself at home and explains he's looking for work.

Paul calls in the pub looking for work but Johnny explains they're fully staffed.

Billy talks Carla into giving Paul a job at the factory as part of the government's rehabilitation scheme for ex-cons. Paul thanks Billy for his help and looks at him in a new light.

Sally explains to Tim and Sophie that Abi will be getting out next week and without her protection, she fears for her safety. Tim sets off to find Duncan, determined to force a confession from him. Imran's horrified to find Gina rifling through his papers.

Gina begs Imran to help her to nail Duncan and Imran reluctantly hands over Duncan's address. Gina tells Imran she needs one more favour from him and if he doesn't play ball, she'll report him to the Law Society.
