Back in March, when Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced lockdown plans, soaps across the country, including the likes of Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and EastEnders, were forced to stop filming to adhere to social distancing rules.
Many revealed they would be airing to reduced schedules, with Hollyoaks even going down to two new episodes per week, but now it looks like they are about to run out.
Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, ITV boss Kevin Lygo revealed if filming doesn't resume in the coming weeks, Emmerdale will run out of episodes by the end of May, with Corrie following closely behind in June.
