Rana Nazir hasn't exactly had an easy ride of it on Coronation Street over the past year. Not only did she discover that she was in love with her best female friend Kate Connor after marrying Zeedan, but her family completely disowned her as they were not happy with her sexuality.
And although things have been going from strength-to-strength in her relationship with Kate, she's about to get some further bad news when her dad Hassan Habeeb has a stroke.
In tonight's episode (6th August), Hassan Habeeb will have himself a 60th birthday party and invites his son - Rana's brother - Imran to attend. However, when he discloses that Rana is not invited to the family gathering, Imran is completely appalled by his family's behaviour and refuses to attend.
Unfortunately, Hassan will suffer a stroke during the party and will be rushed to hospital, but his prognosis won't look good.

Rana's mother Saira tries to ban her from his hospital room, but Corrie bosses have revealed on their website that Rana will allow Saira to lie to Hassan if it means she can see her dad one last time.
The website says, 'Saira agrees to let Rana see her father, but tells him Rana has seen 'the error of her ways'. He squeezes his daughter's hand and passes away. Rana is wracked with guilt that she lied to her father on his deathbed, how will she cope?'
