There's a shock appearance on the Cobbles which will change everything for Sally Metcalfe's case. With Duncan Radfield in hospital after his run in with Tim Metcalfe, Sophie Metcalfe hopes photographic evidence of his 'dead' wife May will be enough to blackmail him into a confession. But Duncan isn't giving in that easily.
Audrey Roberts realises she'll have to sell her half of the salon to cover the thousands it will cost to repair the dry rot in her house. David Platt is horrified when she sells out to Claudia Colby of all people, and vows to take control.

Daniel and Sinead finally get her test results – and it's not good news. The cancer has spread and she needs radiotherapy immediately, and so will have to deliver the baby today.

Hearing of the progression, their friends and family rally round to the throw and impromptu baby shower for Sinead. But, feeling overwhelmed, Daniel slinks away halfway through.

Later on, in the neonatal unit, Daniel is joined by Ken. Admitting he's scared, Ken hugs him close and tells him he'll be a great dad.

The new parents decide to name their son Bertie, after Uncle Albert. But a nurse takes Daniel aside and explains that baby Bertie has a bowel condition.

Sinead eventually comes round to Daniel by her bedside. When she asks how her baby is doing, Daniel lies and says that he's perfect, not wanting to cause her any more stress.

Nick puts his foot in it when a picture of a diamond necklace he buys for Leanne makes it's way to social media. Elsa tells Nick she's seen the necklace, and is putting their divorce on hold as he clearly has more money than he's letting on.

But Leanne grows suspicious, realising Nick is hiding something from her – especially since Toyah let's slip that a woman has been ringing the house phone asking after him...

Now let's remind ourselves of what's going on this week.
Tim Metcalfe and Gina Seddon will try to make up for their mistake by clearing Sally Metcalfe's name.
Gina goes snooping in Duncan Radfield's house and finds out some crucial information that may help Sally's case. But when they report him to the police, they are told that without a confession, Sally will stay in prison. Tim goes to confront Duncan to force a confession out him.
Meanwhile, on the inside, Sally is struggling with Abi's release and no one to protect her from prison dealer Marcia, who she now shares a cell with.
Audrey Robert's stolen money will not be reimbursed by the bank, and she's determined to get to the bottom of it. When Evelyn Plummer mentions Claudia Colby's salon is closed for refurbishment, Audrey reports her to the police.
Liz McDonald returns from the hospital after Johnny Connor's failed hit and run, but it soon becomes clear that Jenny Bradley was driving the car...
