The gravity of the tragedy at the factory begins to sink in, and Carla Connor is the prime suspect next week on Coronation Street.
Though Michelle Connor tries her best to defend Carla, it falls on deaf ears after Carla is nowhere to be seen after she's questioned by police. The residents on the cobbles have also not realised that Robert Preston has been missing for days. He had a vengeance for Carla after blaming her for his split with Michelle - maybe he is the mysterious figure that damaged the roof?
A health and safety inspector arrives in the village in the aftermath of the accident by the name of Wayne Hayes – who Roy Cropper fostered with his late wife Hayley many years before.
Despite the nature of his visit, Wayne agrees to help Roy research the history behind his mum Sylvie's ring.
Meanwhile, Sarah Louise Platt tells Gary Windass he needs to cooperate with police and tell them what he knew about the roof. As they celebrate a new job coming in for Gary, they're gutted to find his van vandalised and his tools stolen.
Sinead Tinker brings little Bertie home from hospital and is touched to find that Ken Barlow has decorated their house for them. Daniel Osbourne reassures Sinead that they'll make great parents.
