As we're slowly coming to terms with the harsh reality that Love Island will soon no longer be on our screens every night at 9pm, we've started to focus our attention on other TV shows. 'Cos just like relationships, it's much easier to get over one series by becoming emotionally invested and borderline obsessed with another, right?
We recently found out that the release date for Stranger Things series 2 had been brought forward to 27 October, 2017. So, now we've got at least one new Netflix show to binge watch once summer's over.
(Here's everything you need to know about the new season, btw.)
With the new release date, fans have been hard at work plotting theories for what we can expect to see take place in Hawkins later this year.
And one theory about the monster in season two has particularly caught our attention.
It comes as a poster for the second series shows a pretty terrifying figure in the clouds above the town.
Eerie, right?
Fans on Reddit took to the discussion board to hypothesise about what this could mean for the direction of the show.
One wrote: "Is it just me or does the new monster not look like an actual physical creature? It looks like it's made of cloud. I'm guessing that the monster is actually in the Upside Down, but somehow the barriers between the different dimensions are breaking down, and, just like the trailer said, "the world is turning upside down."
SPOOKY.
Another user then added: "Pretty much. Maybe the monster has a physical presence in both dimensions. In our world it creates these storms and takes on this cloud-based appearance, and then in later episodes the characters go into the Upside Down and see the real creature in all it's glory. Or maybe it fully enters our world becoming a real physical creature. Not exactly sure how a group of kids will take down a monster that huge though. Maybe they'll get the military involved."
So… the Upside Down is actually going to be all around?
Will the monster break through into Hawkins? Will we have any idea what’s real and what’s not?
IS ANYONE SAFE?
OK, maybe we’re going a teeny bit overboard, but it does all sound creepy AF.
We're going to distract ourselves with some more Love Island stories while we still can.
