Remember Daniel Lassman from the 2014 series of The Apprentice? The one with all the catchphrases and clichés, along the lines of “there’s no I in team but there’s five in individual brilliance”?

Well, he’s made some big claims about the show, saying they “manipulate” storylines.

According to Daniel, producers encouraged him to keep saying his slogans - and egged on contestants when arguing. He recalled a situation when he was arguing with fellow contestant Felipe and one of the production staff members were apparently helping to construct the argument.

He told The Sun: “If it was all a fun, friendly show, there would be no show - you need the arguments and romances. The BBC aren’t stupid. If they don’t have that, they don’t have a show.”

He went as far as comparing being on the show to being in prison...

Apparently, they only got a 10 minute phone call once a week.

He claimed: "At one point it got down to five minutes, that’s the only time I could speak to my wife. If you were a second over they’d start looking at their watches and telling you to wrap it up.”

A spokesperson for The Apprentice, however, has rejected Daniel’s claims “that storylines are in any way scripted or manipulated.”

Back in 2014 Daniel came third on the show, behind Bianca Miller in second place. Mark Wright was crowned the winner.

Lord Sugar fired Daniel because he wasn’t confident in his business plan.

The Apprentice is back for it’s 13th series TONIGHT at 9pm on BBC1.

Soz Daniel but we’ll most definitely be watching!
