There is happy and then there is Danny sodding Baker. He said he enjoyed jellied eels(?!) and gushed after 2.5 seconds of entering camp how he was 'surrounded by a great bunch of people'. He literally only stopped grinning once and that was to put an emu rump in his gob.

What's his secret? Does he have a secret IPad in his hammock complete every Gilmore Girls episode? A stash of crunchy peanut butter in his rucky?

Need a refresher? Here is the FULL LINE UP in this year's I'm a Celeb

So it may come as a shock that Danny battled cancer five years ago and during this evening's I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, the TV presenter opened up about the true extent of his illness.

When talking about how 'orrible the food is at camp, (Carol plz don't put a tampon in our sandwich a la Orange Is The New Black) Danny told the campmates about his cancer battle.

Though he touched on some very personal details of what must have been an awful time, he told the story whilst remaining mega-cheery. Kudos to the man, who has the positive outlook malarky sussed.

'I’ve got a slight advantage because I was ill five years ago and one of the legacies of it is my mouths always dry, I’ve got very few taste buds, very few saliva glands and my appetite is flat lined. One of the things here because it’s in your head and you get radiotherapy, its blitzes your mouth and you can’t. . .'

THEN he revealed, 'I couldn't talk for eight months.' EIGHT months of silence. We can't even keep schtum when our boyfriend is trying to watch Manchester United and that's 90 minutes.

FITLORD Adam Thomas couldn't believe it either and joked, 'you’re making up for it now!'

'The world gave thanks!' agreed Danny.

Danny's cancer revelation shocked the campmates, with Scarlett especially, feeling emotional.

A very teary Scarlett said, “I just think Danny’s so brave and like I just got very emotional because I just think cancer is awful and like obviously it affects so many families.'

The queen of telly also revealed a family heartache of her own. 'My dad’s had it before and Danny actually reminds me weirdly of my dad because he’s got such a positive outlook on everything.'

'It weren’t tears of sadness it was tears of just how inspirational he is, just how positive he can stay and he’s just amazing. He’s just mint.'

Touching stuff. We are happy he has fully recovered and is now is spending his time hugging koala bears and cheering on teammates as they drink blended pig's anus milkshakes.
