There's bad news in store for fans of Doctor Who - for the first time in 13 years, there will not be an episode of Doctor Who shown on Christmas Day! Since the series returned to the small screen in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston at the helm, there's been a festive-themed episode on the big day - but sadly, there won't be an episode this year.
Thankfully, there will be an episode - but it will be shown on New Year's Day instead, according to the Mirror, who report that a TV source has said they won't bat an eyelid after moving the series from Saturday nights to Sunday nights.
The source revealed, "BBC bosses have already made the bold move of shifting the entire series to Sunday nights so they won’t be scared about moving the festive special from Christmas to New Year."
However, a spokesperson for the BBC has poured cold water on the claims, saying that nothing has been confirmed yet. They told MailOnline, "We have not announced our schedules for the festive period yet so it is too early for us to comment."
