If you loved seeing lovable rogue Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubb getting up to all kinds of cheekiness around Albert Square, we’re afraid you’re out of luck – the character has been scrapped from EastEnders.
Actor Ricky Norwood has been axed after five years playing the part and will film his final scenes next week, and the star’s final episode will air in the run-up to Christmas.
A spokesperson for the soap told the Daily Mirror: “We can confirm Ricky is leaving. We wish him all the best.”
An insider added to the paper: “He has been great to have around and a decent bloke to have on set.”
The news comes after the star was allegedly caught on Skype performing a sex act and was also apparently smoking cannabis in the clip last year.
Ricky was suspended from the show at the time but returned after two months.
Show bosses said in a statement: “Ricky Norwood has been suspended from the show for a period of two months with immediate effect.
“In addition, Ricky would like to apologise to EastEnders’ viewers for any offence cause and for bringing the show into disrepute.”
The actor first also starred in ‘Enders online spin-off show E20 and won Most Popular Newcomer at the National Television Awards in 2011.
