Emmerdale fans will be absolutely DEVASTATED to hear the news that fan-favourite Ryan Hawley, who plans Robert Sugden, is reportedly quitting the show. The 33-year-old, who has starred as Robert for five years, is rumoured to be leaving the show later this year.

Ryan's character Robert is beloved by fans of the soap as one-half of an epic love story with fellow character Aaron Dingle, played by Danny Miller, and viewers have followed their romance through the years - but it sounds as though RobRon (as fans have dubbed them) will be coming to an end in the coming months.

A TV source told The Sun, "Emmerdale fans have loved every minute of RobRon’s story, and what Ryan has brought to playing Robert. But he has decided to take a break from the show for the foreseeable future and try other projects.

"He will leave later this year, but fans can expect to see him on screen right up until the end of the year. He will be sorely missed."
