Or will it just be more heartache for her later down the line?

This series of Ex On The Beach has been genuinely shocking – it's even made heat clutch our pearls and smooth down our twinset while tutting a few times.

But nothing could have shocked us more than Gary Beadle – Gaz actual Beadle – apologising sincerely for his actions.

Yep: the Geordie Shore star appears to turn over a new leaf just in time for the season finale next Tuesday, where he finally takes responsibility for all his errant parsnip action and says sorry to Lillie Lexie Gregg for cheating on her multiple times.

In sneak peeks obtained by heat, we see Gaz take Lillie aside and beg forgiveness for his actions – and he's actually got tears in his eyes as he says it.

"There's been a lot of stuff going on in here with the whole Chrysten and Mel [thing] and the fact I cheated on you. And the other night, when you were crying in me arms, and we went to bed together, that does prove that I still care about you," Gaz tells a tearful (obviously) Lil.

"I'm sorry, so sorry I cheated on you. I will honestly always care about you a lot. We had some of the best times ever and I'm sorry [about] the things that came out in here."

In his to-camera piece, Gary says: "I actually wish now that when I finished with Lillie I had told her I'd cheated on her because coming out in this kind of environment was not easy.

"I just hope that what I've done to Lillie hasn't scarred her and affected the way she is with lads in the future."

He then tells Lillie: "I've fucked it a few times, I've been caught out and I'm so sorry about that. The rest of our relationship was real."

So what does this mean for Gary? Has he actually seen the error of his ways? Will we see him donning a hessian sack and atoning for his sins?

History would suggest not.

Ex On The Beach concludes Tuesday 18 October at 10pm on MTV.
