Fans spot HUGE plot hole in new Fantastic Beasts trailer

Did they not listen to *anything* Hermione said?

We’re beyond exited for the latest magical installment from the Wizarding World and have been watching the trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald on repeat since its release earlier this week.

But we must have been too busy hyperventilating over the introduction of Jude Law as young Dumbledore as we (embarrassingly) failed to notice a pretty big error in the trailer.

Some eagle-eyed fans on Twitter, however, have put us to shame and pointed out that the filmmakers may not have done their essential reading of Hogwarts: A History as they’ve seemingly ignored a very significant wizarding rule.

The trailer shows three people Apparating onto the walkway leading up to the school, BUT, Harry Potter swots will know this should be impossible.

It’s widely acknowledged in the books and films that students, teachers and guests are unable to Apparate within school grounds. Instead, options for getting in and out include flying cars, thestrals, self-rowing boats and secret passageways, of course.

After watching the trailer, fans took to Twitter to call out this potential mistake.

One wrote: "DID THEY JUST APPARATE IN TO HOGWARTS?"

Another quoted Hermione Granger, writing: "You can't Apparate inside the Hogwarts grounds, how often do I have to tell you?"

Others questioned whether the whole anti-Apparation system could have come into play at a later date, given that Fantastic Beasts is set several decades earlier than the Harry Potter series.

But J.K. Rowling herself disproved that theory in a post about the Hogwarts Express on the Pottermore website.

“The castle and grounds have always been protected with Anti-Apparition Charms,” she wrote.
