GBBO: The best reactions from last night’s episode

We're still getting over that BLT cake, tbh.

new bake off cast

When it was announced that The Great British Bake Off was heading for Channel 4 and leaving Mel Giedroyc, Sue Perkins and dear old Mary Berry behind, we were outraged to say the least.

How could you have GBBO without Mary and her sassy bomber jackets? Surely the whole programme just wouldn’t be the same without Mel and Sue’s innuendos?

It took us a while to forgive Paul Hollywood for his snakey ways, and we were pretty nervous about Prue Leith, Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig joining the cast... but when the clock struck 8 yesterday we were eagerly perched on the sofa with a big old slice of chocolate cake and a cuppa, and we were pleasantly surprised, tbh.

And it seems that you guys were, too... (mostly.)

One Twitter user wrote: “Have just caught up with the #GBBO on ‪@Channel4 and am relieved that, despite changing the ingredients, it has remained a tasty bake!”

While another added: “Seriously impressed with first ep, new duos really getting into their stride, bakers warm and unique and challenges really... CHALLENGING.”

Here are some of your best reactions:
