In case you missed it, Gemma Collins had what can only be described as an absolute bloody shocker back in October 2017 when she fell through the stage at the Radio 1 Teen Awards.
While presenting the award for Best TV Show to Love Island, poor Gem slipped through the trap door on stage and took out Amber Davies, Jamie Jewitt and Marcel Somerville in the process. The internet then exploded and it was impossible to log on to social media without tagging your mates in about 5253254 GC memes.
After the incident, Gemma revealed she planned on seeking compensation, telling The Sun: “I've got to consult a lawyer. The BBC, they've not been in touch with any compensation or anything - or even an apology."
She then backed down and said she’d drop the case if the Beeb offered her a spot on Strictly Come Dancing – which sounds pretty reasonable if you ask us.
However, it looks as though Gem and BBC bosses have reached some sort of compromise as she’s apparently settled for place on Celebrity MasterChef instead.
“After the incident, it didn’t look as though Gemma would ever work with the BBC again, but there has been some peace-making behind the scenes,” a source told the newspaper.
“Initially she was determined that only Strictly Come Dancing would do, but she’s excited about the prospect of MasterChef and it has very much cooled the tension.”
Tbh, if the pie Gemma baked Mick Norcross in Towie series two is anything to go by, we’re expecting big things in the invention challenge.
Let’s just hope she has more luck with Greg Wallace and John Torode.
