Geordie Shore bosses have hit out at claims the show is in crisis after they were reportedly banned from filming in Magaluf.
The cast members are currently being followed by MTV cameras in the Spanish resort and have been attracting a lot of attention for their drunken antics.
Police are said to have “swarmed” the Punta Ballena strip looking for the cast and crew in clubs and bars in a bid to move them on and stop them recording.
But producers are working closely with officials in the town to ensure the new series isn’t thrown into meltdown before it airs.
“Geordie Shore is stronger than ever having its highest ever ratings last series with a consolidated 1.3million,” an insider told Mirror Online.
“Everyone is excited about this series. Everyone loves a drama with Geordie Shore and with them all overseas it makes it more exciting.
“Production are working closely with the authorities and police to make sure everyone is happy.”
The crew have apparently been given strict guidelines on where the stars - Gaz Beadle, Holly Hagan, Scotty T, Nathan Henry, Aaron Chalmers, Marty McKenna, Chantelle Connelly and Marnie Simpson - can be filmed.
It is understood the cameras are banned from rolling in public and tourism officials are said to be unhappy with the reality favourites’ actions being documented in private venues too.
A spokesperson for production company Lime Pictures said: “We were aware that filming on the main Magaluf strip would be restricted and so provisions had already been made for this.
“Lime Pictures has completed all due diligence in securing the correct licences for filming material for broadcast in Magaluf and have adhered to the restrictions, filming only where we are licensed to.”
They added: “Any suggestion that we have filmed material for broadcast illegally is completely unfounded.”
